On December 4, the Heqichang Spring Bamboo Academy hosted a training session closely related to every employee’s personal welfare. Focusing on the theme “Social Insurance Handbook,” the course was delivered by Luo Zhanghua, Deputy General Manager of the Resin Division, who provided a thorough explanation of the Five Social Insurances and One Housing Fund, offering employees clear guidance on pension, medical care, maternity, unemployment, work-related injury, and housing security.

The atmosphere was lively and engaging. Mr. Luo broke down each type of insurance with clarity and practical insight.

During the pension insurance section, he highlighted that with the gradual implementation of the delayed retirement policy, the traditional requirement of paying for only 15 years is no longer sufficient for ensuring a desirable retirement income. Many people may need to contribute for 20 years or even longer. He also emphasized the risks of social insurance interruption or back payments, stressing the importance of continuous contribution to avoid affecting future pension benefits.

Medical insurance—“one of the most important insurances in life”—was another key topic. The training detailed how reimbursement works, the differences between personal and pooled accounts, and the contribution and reimbursement ratios of various medical insurance schemes, including urban and rural resident medical insurance. These explanations helped employees better understand that medical insurance is not only for daily medical needs, but also a crucial safeguard against major illness risks.

Regarding maternity insurance, Mr. Luo explained how employees can apply for maternity benefits through either their own or their spouse’s social insurance, highlighting the flexibility and family-oriented nature of the policy. For work-related injury insurance, he reminded everyone that if a workplace injury occurs, the company must report the case to the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau within 30 days, as delays may affect certification and subsequent benefits. On unemployment insurance, he clarified that contributing for one full year entitles the insured to two months of benefits, with a maximum cumulative period of 24 months.

The session also included prize-winning Q&A, bringing frequent interaction and laughter. After the training, Mr. Luo actively sought feedback on improving future sessions. Some suggested more outdoor practical activities to enhance hands-on experience; others recommended small-group discussions to increase participation and learning effectiveness. All suggestions were carefully recorded and will help shape future improvements.
